Ultra Violet Light is sometimes known as Black Light. UV light is just beyond the blue end of the colour spectrum so appears 'invisible' to the eye. A UV torch or light produces ultraviolet light and when combined with UV responsive material or toys produces dramatic bright vivid colours which appear to glow.

UV products are most effective in a dark room or dark den and are ideal for one to one or group work.

SAFETY

UV black light isn't harmful in small doses, so moderation is the key to using black lights safely. Whilst the permissible exposure limit for UV light is somewhat complicated to determine, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology recommended half an hour or less. Protection is simple: cover up, as skin is generally protected by lightweight clothing, and it is recommended that the eyes should be protected at all times. These precautions will allow you to enjoy the positive benefits achieved during black light activities, but we would always advise you to seek professional advice with regard to health and safety.
