This small starter UV-kit contains a 18 fun and exciting glow-in-the-dark toys and objects. When exposed to the UV-light in the dark, these toys will glow to create a stimulating visual effect, giving children an entirely new understanding of light and colour. The best place to use this kit is in a dark enclosed area such as a dark den or sensory pod.

Ultra Violet Light is sometimes known as Black Light. UV light is just beyond the blue end of the colour spectrum so appears 'invisible' to the eye. A UV torch or light produces ultraviolet light and when combined with UV responsive material or toys produces dramatic bright vivid colours which appear to glow.

UV black light isn't harmful in small doses, so moderation is the key to using black lights safely. Whilst the permissible exposure limit for UV light is somewhat complicated to determine, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology recommended half an hour or less. Protection is simple: cover up, as skin is generally protected by lightweight clothing, and it is recommended that the eyes should be protected at all times.
